The project of the new I.S.I.S. “Don Milani” in Romano di Lombardia concerns a new school that is integrated with an existing structure located in another location. Great attention has been paid to the urban-environmental inclusion of the artefacts in the existing context, thanks also to the use of materials and morphologies typical of the local tradition revisited in a modern key. Another feature is the search for sustainability of the building. The environments have large openings on the internal facades, while the external ones are semi-blind, equipped with simple and numerous slits of light, which guarantees fewer disturbing factors from the outside.
